The Visit Review

Directed By: M.Knight Shyamalan

Starring: Olivia DeJonge, Ed Oxenbould, Deanna Dunagan

I was super excited to check out the new Shyamalan film. I am a huge fan even after a couple blunders (The Happening, I am looking at you!). I think The Visit is a sign that we can start looking forward to his movies again. I am not saying it is the “best movie ever” but definitely fun to watch, which is a big part of what’s been missing. If you like getting scared and being creeped out it is surely worth seeing. There was a twist of course, though more predictable than usual, but it still had a pay off. If you were a fan of Shyamalan’s other films or prefer scary movies to dramas, then this is the movie for you in theaters right now. I would say it is appropriate for teenagers and up, though take heed, there is a little bit of old lady nakedness.

    1. Thank you for the comment! It was refreshing to see M. Knight hit his stride again. He utilized his ability of showing you something scary with no music cue or big “Boo! Got ya!” and it kind of freezes you a second later when you realize how creepy it really was. Definitely recommend, there is a lot worse out there!
