Gods of Egypt Review

Directed By: Alex Proyas

Starring: Brenton Thwaites, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Gerard Butler

I had some really low expectations going into this movie so it actually ended up being better than I expected. With that said, it was WAY too much CGI, it was over produced and under developed. The story wasn’t terrible and neither was the acting but there wasn’t enough good, old fashioned sets and practical effects. It feels like most of the movie was filmed with green screen. I didn’t care too deeply about any of the characters and if anyone really died and stayed dead it wouldn’t have bothered me too much. A movie like this could have covered a multitude of sins with really good action but the action looked pretty video gamey. This movie was entertaining but just too much reliance on special effects and computer graphics.
